Judge Gee served as the District Chief Judge with the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Administrative Judges in San Francisco from 2007 to 2019, presiding over formal hearings under 84 diverse, labor-related sections of the federal code. She has served as a judge since 1982, hearing personnel-related cases for the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board and hearing disability benefit cases for the Social Security Administration. Before becoming a judge, she spent eight years as a trial attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley and Juris Doctor from UC-Berkeley’s School of Law. Judge Gee has served as faculty for The National Judicial College (NJC) since 1994. She was awarded the NJC's Payant Award for Teaching Excellence in 2018.
