John Muffler is an accomplished law enforcement professional with more than 28 years of experience in the field with an emphasis on leadership and high-level security matters. He is certified in threat management by the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. He served the U.S. Marshals Service as the Administrator of the National Center for Judicial Security and was tasked with protecting hundreds of personnel, facilities, and at-risk public officials. He has developed and used multi-disciplinary threat assessment teams that advised hundreds of schools and workplaces on protection, prevention, and intervention approaches and helped develop the Department of Homeland Security’s national-level Active Shooter Preparedness curriculum. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Temple University, his M.S. in Criminal Justice from St. Joseph’s University, and is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School Executive Leaders Program. He is on the faculty of the National Judicial College and is their most recent recipient for their Payant Award for Excellence in Teaching
