Judge Carla Garrett serves on the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, where she has presided since 2020. She was re-elected in 2022, securing a term that extends through January 8, 2029.

Before joining the Superior Court, Judge Garrett served for 12 years as anAdministrative Law Judgewith the California Office of Administrative Hearings, where she adjudicated complex administrative matters involving state agencies, regulated industries, and professional licensing. Her earlier career includes extensive service asDeputy Trial Counselfor the State Bar of California, where she prosecuted attorney discipline cases and helped uphold professional standards within the legal community.
In addition to her public service roles, she also worked in private practice as both an associate attorney and a self-employed practitioner, gaining broad experience across civil litigation, professional responsibility, and administrative law.
