Description
This session discusses all factors recognized in evidence law that hearing officials may use to assess credibility in hearings, in addition to and separate from demeanor evidence. Various credibility factors, such as inconsistency of statements, the inherent improbability of testimony, or the interests of the witness, will be examined and analyzed. This class will also review the psychological research related to truth-telling and deception, and how that research may apply to credibility determinations made by administrative hearing officials.
