Description

Administrative hearings routinely involve one or more self-represented litigants. For those unfamiliar with the legal framework and the process (and, sometimes, for those with familiarity), administrative hearings cause uncertainty and anxiety about matters of immense importance that can result in inappropriate or unhelpful behavior during the hearing. This can create challenges for the hearing official in managing the hearing. This class will offer practical tips for handling cases with self-represented litigants that provide a forum for a fair and efficient administrative process resulting in a complete evidentiary record.
