When the person appearing on behalf of the agency for which we are conducting the hearing doesn’t fully understand the administrative hearing process, they often make accusations during the hearing regarding matters outside the issues, including bringing up charges not identified in the notice. This session will examine the ways in which to handle this situation and provide methods for getting everyone back to the relevant issues. Useful tips to keep hearing participants confined to relevant matters will be discussed.
