Judge Murrell holds a J.D. from University of Memphis and a B.A., cum laude, from Harding University. He was in private practice for 18 years before serving as Assistant Attorney of the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. In 2005, he joined the Workers’ Compensation Bureau where he served as an Administrative Judge and Director of Quality Assurance. He earned certification through NAHO in 2013 and was appointed as an Administrative Judge with the Office of the Secretary of State Administrative Procedures Division in 2018. He is a trained mediator, former President and Board of Directors Member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, former Board Member of the Tennessee Alliance for Legal Services, present Board Member of the Columbia Mediation Center, serves on the NAHO Certification Committee, and is a regular presenter at NAHO Professional Development Conferences.
